Chris and I both volunteer as Small Group
Leaders for youth at our church. We absolutely love serving these young men every week. We meet with about fifteen male students once week and talk about the youth service. We also get to do life with these young men by investing time hanging out with them during the week. Through this service we both came to realize that we are passionate about relational ministry. Jesus has also used it to show us that He has something bigger planned for our lives than what we
are currently doing. Due to our discontent with our current situation, we began to pray and ask Jesus for His vision for our lives. Not to our surprise, He answered by showing us a need in the lives of the male teenagers in our community. This need is Jesus and a redeemed view of masculinity.
Jesus has revealed this need to us, not so we can
sit idly by, but so that we can meet it here in our community of Easley. The only problem left was to figure out how. Since we didn’t know, we began to seek out counsel from people that were already meeting needs in their community. Through their advice coupled with volunteering at a local school, Jesus began to reveal to us that He is calling us to devote all of our efforts into meeting the needs of the young men in our community. That is where the idea for Man Apart Ministries was born. This ministry will change the lives of the boys in Easley. This is only the beginning of what we know will change an entire community and more. We can claim this because we are confident that Jesus is behind the vision of this ministry!
